There were days when, there were dog days of elections .Like every body was campaigning . Wall and streets were full of poster and flags .But this time election commission strict action have changed the things .Any way, I would like to describe here What the dog days of elections are .Actually this term is derived or modified from dog days of summer . The dog days of summer are period of exceptionally hot and muggy weather that occurs in July and august . Dog days of election are last two weeks of elections , which are on . The origin of phrase describing these stifling ,humid days in found in stars .
Centuries ago in ancient times when artificial lights and pollution did not obscure the night sky, people in different area around the world look in to the night sky and see a group of stars ;then the would connect the dots .Over 2000 years ago , Greek astronomers saw the same patterns in the northern sky as we see today .They name the start pattern or constellations , after gods, mythological creatures ,and animal familiar to them, such as bears: Ursa Major and Ursa Minor .The Dogs are called Canis Major and Canis Minor .The brightest es star in big dogs , Canis Major is called Sirius , which is brightest star in the sky .During the summer this Sirius star rises and sets with sun .In Late July, Sirius is aligned with the sun .So People mistakenly assumed that the hot weather they are getting due to this Sirius which is intensifying the heat of sun .Though this is fact that these stars do not have their own heat or energy .
Hence in dog day of election , some people mistakenly assume that some odd stars( Babas ) can give them the warmth they are looking . These Babas are just arise with sun and set with sun for few peak days of elections .They try to milk this cow of elections from different political parties So I would request people to vote for the genuine issues not the these dog stars and their issues and make this democracy real and not on just that what their Baba Said
