Health care Benefits cut for refugee claimants : Professionals and Taxpayers

With new cuts on healthcare  benefits for  Refugees claimants   started  new debate among taxpayers and Canadian health care professionals . According to new amendments  refugee claimants  will no longer have eye , dental or prescription drug  expenses  covered by   federal government , which most Canadian citizens and permanent  residents do not get . According to new cuts ,  healthcare benefits receivers will be getting benefits on based of their  condition . According to new rules benefits will given to only patient who  ahve communicable diseases  and threat to public life . Means as long as they are in danger or dying  government wont pay  any penny for them , but  if they get any contagious disease like tuberculosis   aids , then they will get benefits .These new amendments  irked healthcare professionals .White  coat  population is out on roads protesting these cuts , while  tax payers  looks bit amused with these new cuts .Being a healthcare professional I can not understand , why these guys are on roads against these cuts . I smell  rat here . In my opinion  these cuts were necessary and eminent . This large group of population was getting    almost every thing free, which was making them little  insensitive to treatment . They were seeing physician and healthcare professional for each  and every bit , which could have been resolved by a pharmacist. In another words to get 5$ Tylenol or advil tablets free , they were seeing physician to get a prescription, which was costing government about 50$ ( including  physician and pharmacy fees ) . Ironically  healthcare professional , specially physicians took out swords against government decision. They think that this will kill  refugees , I do not know  why this will kill refugee . If this was true half of the Canadian population would have died by now . In My pharmacy I see everyday people, who can not  afford   their medication. Further more all most all the provinces  have provincial coverage based on income , so if you  comes in low income group and have severe disease you will get medication free.
I Can understand  why tax payers are happy with these  cuts. They argue that , why they have to pay for some ones medication . It enough, we gave them asylum, we trained them for work , then why these benefits that too extended benefits . Like vision care , when avaerage Canadian  can buy   this glasses from Dollar store  and can survive , why these immigrants and refugee have to see Dr  to get these glasses , who bills government  for hundred of dollars .
I think government can choose a median way for these claimants and provide benefits as needed. Services should not be warranted, but if a healthcare professional  think that condition should be treated on priority bases and what is the financial status of recipient.
